TIME AT ENODIA: Evan joined the station in early 2022. She was around during the pulse.

POWER(S): 1. She can talk to animals (except invertebrates). 2. She can hop into an animal's body with them if they don't mind. Which means she can do extra surveillance with literal eagle eyes. 3. She can borrow the traits of animals to enhance her own senses. She could have the scent skills of a blood hound or the sight ability of a hawk or the strength of a horse. (Basically, whatever animal is within a one mile radius, she can borrow their skills.)

SUMMARY: TW: parental death, emotional abandonment
TL;DR - Evan grew up with a family whose mindset was stuck on 'girls shouldn't do that'. Her parents pretty much were too busy to remember they had kids. In defiance of the whole 'girls shouldn't', she got a job as a firefighter. Eventually realized animals were talking to her.

An accident took her parents, she turned their house into an Airbnb, moved to DC (got robbed), moved to WV, then to Enodia. She worked on a farm post-pulse. Part of her job in research is to see if she can get any info out of liminal animals. Otherwise, if someone needs a research bitch to fetch you coffee, she's probably your girl.

CURRENT STATE: IDK. The vibe is just Evan being a normal person. She talks to her dog a lot. So you're more likely to see her with her hands on her hips staring up into a tree talking to the birds than you are to see her enthusiastically talking to another human being.

ANYTHING ELSE: She was robbed blind by a past relationship. She doesn't talk about it. But she might be twitchy about her stuff.

OCCUPATION: Explorer.

TIME AT ENODIA: Lou was part of the first cohort (thanks, Rory), so has been here the whole time. He was also here for the pulse.

POWER(S): Just going to c&p from his app—

plant manipulation; able to control and manipulate all forms of plant life, causing them to move/grow/bloom/wither/heal/regenerate, etc. he's also able to make them attack (ie. using vines to grab someone, roots to trip them, poison, thorns, etc). this power does not work on plants that are already dead (ie. a rotting log/wooden chair/stir fry).

plant empathy; he can communicate with plants, although they don't have thoughts and emotions in the same way that humans do; he knows if they've been hurt/disturbed/stressed, and cares for their well-being (and vice-versa).

photosynthesis; can use sunlight to regain energy, strengthen, or heal himself. he could potentially forego the need for food as well, but he does need to be extra mindful of keeping himself properly hydrated.

SUMMARY: TL;DR he comes off as kind of an introverted grouch, but he's a softe sweetheart if you're one of the few people he lets get close to him (he got dumped by a fiance for being a liminal at one point and now he has trust issues). He was an art professor, did his PhD on Liminal art. Also used to be a wilderness guide. Outdoorsy, gruff, West Virginian. Rory and Mouse are his found fam. He has a lot of interests and hobbies but he mostly just keeps all that to himself. More details on his app.

🍃 life-force transferal. he can heal you by giving you the life force from something else (human, animal, plant, or himself). he avoids this because he feels bad taking from outside sources.
🍃 indestructibility. becomes impervious to damage. happens involuntarily (while healing) or voluntarily. takes a lot of concentration.
🍃 heals fast. what it says on the tin.

SUMMARY: 50% loner by circumstance & 50% poorly socialized golden retriever. small inner circle that he's a loving brat to; gruff to everyone else. (he doesn't hate you, he just doesn't know how to act.) exception: the network, where he seems to be talkative and maybe even caring?? outdoorsy pacifist who's real concerned about your safety. you'll probably hear his country/folk renditions of pop songs if you leave your balcony door open. he doesn't have great customer service skills at mew'n'brew and he thinks his enthusiasm for fostering its kittens more than makes up for it.

(history: WY cowboy > being a uhaul premium member took him to new cities > firefighter & occasional bartender > now he's here.)

CURRENT STATE: he spent the downtime RVing to different national and state parks with lou and mouse, which was lovely. while coming back isn't unwelcome, it's a little tense due to the whole blip mystery. his opinion re: the slew of new hires is "lord no" and he will not be remembering any of your names.

WANTED LINES:

office nemesis: it's (really) hard to get on rory's bad side but somehow you managed it. now the two of you are trapped in a never-ending cycle of workplace pettiness that can include but is not limited to: signing each other up for unwanted mailing lists, hiding pictures of hated faces/objects around workspaces, volunteering each other for committees they want no part of, stealing rubber bands from meticulously curated rubber band balls.

it's not supposed to get worse before it gets better (aka blip victim): you were in a bad way following the blip and needed healing. while getting actual medical help in the moment wasn't feasible, rory was there, so he used his own life force to heal you! neat! ... except for THE BLIP THAT JUST HAPPENED, and he sapped you worse, which sucks. when you finally got non-fairfax aid it took longer than it was supposed to for you to feel yourself again. sorry pal. 0:)

🐭 empathy: he can interpret and feel the emotions of people in his general vicinity. he will generally just awkwardly pretend that he is Not feeling other people's emotions all the time, if he can manage this.
🐭 emotional manipulation: altering people's emotions, strengthening or lessening them. mouse is not very practiced in this.
🐭 empathic shifting: he shapeshifts involuntarily when experiencing specific emotions. as of now, he knows that mousing is an outcome from being emotionally drained while worming is an outcome of having an emotional overload of sorts. due to mouse actively trying to minimize his own emotions most of the time, he may or may not discover that there's other things he just hasn't reached the emotional threshold to have shifted to yet.

mouse also doesn't actively try to use any of these powers!

SUMMARY: most avoidant boy in person, way better on the net because he doesn't have to worry about empathy getting in the way of things. big emotions scare him, especially anger. impulsive & stupid so he somehow ends up pissing people off, despite this.

(he bounced around three different liminal boarding schools including That One, then was an emt until he realized that empathy was bad for him while emting, so he became a nurse and eventually made his way to the station when working in a pediatric clinic was not fulfilling enough. applying maybe also had to do with how rory & lou were both there as well shhhhh)

CURRENT STATE: mouse is not super thrilled to be back. rving and camping for a few months with lou and rory was kind of his ideal situation because it meant not being around a ton of people and he's wary of going back to an environment with lots of folks again re: empathy considering lou and rory are pretty easy to be around in that regard too. genuinely have no clue what he's actually gonna be like when the game actually starts because of that. 🥲

TIME AT ENODIA: Dorin is a brand new addition to Enodia Station. He's heard about the pulse but doesn't have a solid grasp on the chaos it caused. They're re-opening, so it couldn't have been that bad, right?

POWER(S): Six blood-sucking tentacles (typically concealed in his abdomen) and an adapted hematophagous physiology. Basically, Dorin's designed to consume blood and he's way less human on the inside than he appears on the outside. His tentacles are immensely strong and wildly flexible and each has a rudimentary brain/sensory organs, meaning that he can use them for a wide range of tasks simultaneously. He also has improved senses of smell, taste, and touch.

SUMMARY: Dorin developed his powers at six and grew up as a ward of the Liminal school system after lashing out at his father for that tasty, tasty blood. Whoops. He's deeply self-conscious about his nature, but is a fundamentally kind and hopeful guy. Mostly just looking for somewhere he can belong and do some good in the world. He's shy but he wants to help and he craves connection and validation, so he never stays entirely in his shell. While he's keen to look out for everyone, he's bad at articulating his own needs and feelings. :) He's Fine, thanks! While he's a bit of a mess socially, he's diligent and actually seems to be at his most content and confident when he's working hard at something that matters to him.

CURRENT STATE: In the last few years, Dorin has been trying to live a quiet life out in the world...but that didn't work out. He recently made a spectacle of himself in public (objectively, it wans't nearly as big a deal as he thinks it was) and ran away back to his comfort zone: a relatively isolated IRIS compound. He's feeling far too seen right now and just wants to disappear. Thankfully, Enodia Station is here to help! It feels a bit like going home. This feeling is solidified by the fact that he's reuniting with his roommate from his school days, Noah Moon (♥!). He's optimistic that this'll go well.

ANYTHING ELSE: Dorin learned to sew in his youth and has become pretty proficient at creating designs and making garments, particularly for Liminal bodies with untraditional features. He'll help if you need something made or tailored! Just ask!

OCCUPATION: Hair Snipper+ Part Time Lab Assistant

TIME AT ENODIA: This is very easy. She is brand new! BUT! She has two brothers, Enoch who is alive and Gavin who is not alive who have been stationed at Enodia for longer, so her name and reputation (both bad) might precede her.

POWER(S): Basically, she thinks she has trichokinesis and can manipulate any 1 (one) person's hair within visual range. She can grow any body hair, make it fall out, or change the texture and color of individualized sections/strands as long as it's a natural color. She is GREAT at highlights. Surprise, this power is just a symptom of her latent cytokinesis wherein she is technically able to manipulate all cells in the body with this ease; she just has to know how they work and yr girl hasn't finished a basic human anatomy class even once. We'll work on that. Maybe. Maybe not.

SUMMARY: From a family where she was rich but also not treated very well, Crysta barely finished high school and is very used to being on her worst behavior for little scraps of affection or attention, something that continues to this day. She's extremely friendly but unloyal, you never know when you'll have to drop a person for a better deal. Prone to nihilism and playing dumb; nothing matters and she's soooo stupid so let's just party and then never speak again. Except in the past three or so years, she actually did allow herself to feel .4 oz of self worth--she is good at cutting hair and got her shit together long enough to have a promising apprenticeship in LA. And then her oldest brother died about a monthish before the blip. She's still a little caught up in that whirlwind, and heard a rumor that Parson Starling ate his ghost, so she felt she had to go to Enodia. Definitely not to be near her remaining brother who she is not worried about for sure.

CURRENT STATE: I'll tell you what she's not doing she's not grieving or mourning anyone no sir. She's so excited to be here and is going to land in this salon like she owns the place! (Sorry)

ANYTHING ELSE: I never really did a wanted lines so they are to include (but please tell me if you have other good ideas!!):
Ex (of any gender): Imagine escaping the worst relationship of your life and then showing up at work and she's there, and you might think she's there to follow you only (it's really not but it would be Funny).
Co-Former-Bad-Girl: Also imagine going to a terrible bad girl camp when you were a teen and have your bully from there show up at your job, and never shut up about wow you both got powers it must have been in the water.
Let's Get Enodia on Social Media:: She wants to do a Foilent Green company tiktok and might have to be talked to about rules but co-conspirators in this quest would also be cute let's do themey days and dances.
RESEARCH: This is your new lab assistant; she's going to be doing bottom level chores only but will be AGGRESSIVELY kind and helpful to everyone except Enoch, whose filing will always be a little off and his coffee will always be a little wrong from today on out. Why is she in research. Don't ask questions.

TIME AT ENODIA: Parson was an original hire, brought in to help with building out the Exploration program. He's been here ever since, and was present for the blip.

POWER(S):
(1) Able to create a temporary link between two living things, making a telepathic and empathic bond. If these two living things are Liminal, they can also share, or possibly blend, their abilities. The technical term for this power is "Emulsification", but folks around the station call it "Getting Hitched."

(2) Theoretically able to control the inertia of his own body, but this power is not fully under his control. He breaks a lot of glasses.

SUMMARY: Indefatigable supernova of a person currently on his way to collapsing into a black hole. 😌 The Hot, Friendly Bartender.

Parson has lived a charmed life, hurtling through time and space without much concern for how he might fuck up as he pursues his passions -- most of his many foibles padded by affluence and a strong familial support network. In spite of coming off as a carefree himbo, he's always been a top of the class type. Successful, competitive, exacting in a way that doesn't necessarily fit the image he presents.

Through his early twenties, he defined himself as an IRIS field agent while occasionally part timing as a bartender between assignments. Enodia Station was supposed to be a temporary assignment for him, but he was never transferred back out. A month and a half or so before the blip, while in the field, Gavin Waldinger (elder brother of Enoch and Crysta) was killed while hitched to him. Parson was seriously injured by the recoil. Gavin's powers were imparted to him permanently, and the experience also seems to be affecting Parson in still unclear ways, including altering his personality.

Those very new inertia powers went haywire during the blip and almost got him killed, but he was helped to safety by a coworker.

CURRENT STATE: Parson came back mostly to prove that He Is Fine and Everything Is Fine, but also at the urging of IRIS officials. There is some concern about how Gavin's death may have affected Parson and (more specifically) his abilities. So, he's at least partly here for monitoring, and is currently on semi-leave from the Explorer division until he gets those Inertia powers more under control. That all said, he's pretending like he loves being back. :)))))

WANTED LINES:

• BAD TINDER HOOKUP (any gender): Someone from Parson's past who got the wrong impression about what a weirdo Parson is thanks to a prank played by his roommates at the time. This would have been Pre-Enodia, early 20s; he was fairly mobile so I'm flexible on where this took place.


• ONE OF PARSON'S SAID FORMER ROOMMATES: A friend that goes way back.

• ONE OF THE CO-OWNERS OF THE SPACE BETWEEN: Carlene Dwyer left Enodia after the blip and signed The Space Between to Parson and two other employees she was fond of. LMK if you're interested. I'd like for these to be functional relationships -- people invested in the success of the bar.

TIME AT ENODIA: Enoch was one of the first hires to the station, along with his older brother, Gavin. Gavin died on an exploration mission a month and a half before the pulse, and Enoch was away for less than a week before coming right back to work.

POWERS:
⚛️ illusion manipulation: creates illusions and manipulates people to see, hear, smell, touch or taste things that aren't real
⚛️ truth perception: cannot be fooled by illusions or anything that "lies" to him, although this power is underdeveloped

SUMMARY: Certified genius who got his PhD at 24 and carries himself like he absolutely believes he's smarter and better than you. Moved from London to Los Angeles as a child; was never hugged by his rich British parents and cannot tan to save his life. Claims to not believe in anything that can't be backed up by cold hard scientific evidence (so things like love, faith, selflessness? Needs More Data). Treats people more like research subjects than people. The kind of guy whose theoretically limitless illusion powers are hampered by his own lack of imagination.

CURRENT STATE: Enoch's brother passed away only four months ago and his essence(???) was partially absorbed by a coworker, and now Enoch's sister wants to work here too. Enoch is Completely Fine with all of this, so don't you dare express any concern for him. He's eager to get back to work and decipher the mysterious pulse that knocked out the station.

WANTED LINES:
⚛️ Research Division Nemesis: A fellow high achiever whom Enoch just loathes. They put on fake smiles and snipe at each other whenever they pass in the hallways. Every professional success this person receives causes Enoch to launch into a 10 minute rant to whoever's nearest to him. I guess he should also have research friends, but. Well. Have you met him.
⚛️ Pulse Pals: When the pulse happened, Enoch threw everyone in the same research lab into an impenetrable illusion of somewhere(??) in the Riftlands. Was your character there? Did anything weird happen to their powers?
⚛️ Ex (of either gender): Enoch is the kind of ex who keeps a list on his phone of everything you've ever done to annoy him and recites it during arguments. He thinks cuddling is something to be tolerated on holidays. If kissing him sounds like the kind of mistake your character would've made, let's talk.

ANYTHING ELSE: The Waldinger brothers were well-known for having an antagonistic, competitive relationship (mostly from Enoch's end). Gavin was an Explorer and more likeable than Enoch, so if your character is a long-time station employee, it's possible they knew Gavin much better than they knew Enoch.

POWER(S): Can diagnose your ulcer if he lays his hands on you. Can grow you a new appendix if he lays his hands on you. Can take a cheeky little peek into your private mind palace if he lays hands on you—and you might be able to take an equally cheeky little peek into his. So he will not be laying his hands on you. Is always thinking of a defensive brain worm song in case he bumps into someone on accident and links minds. May the Lord preserve you if you run into him on a Vengaboys day.

SUMMARY: Convinced he owes a debt to the entire world just for existing but isn't about to make that anyone else's problem. Always tries to be useful in one way or another; takes his job very seriously. Unintentional LA chauvinist—no Jack, people selling faux-mink Tupac blankets at freeway exits was not a universal childhood experience. Likes to drive people around in his shitty little Prius but will swerve to avoid squirrels and go _{"aaaAAAAAAAAAH!"} as he does so. Perpetually one extreme idea away from making this list. Has seen a horror movie like this once.

CURRENT STATE: He just committed an eco-crime back in Los Angeles and has come to Enodia Station to meet up with his thus-far ~anonymous co-conspirator.~ He's a little cagey about that but is otherwise excited about this new opportunity and COMPLETELY unsuspecting of all the Fighting Johnson social booby traps that await him here.

POWER(S): super strength & time dilation that she mistakes for speed manipulation. pretty standard superhero package, though she's still getting used to both. and uh, everything.

SUMMARY: eden grew up in relative privilege. her dad is rich and her family is somewhat functional. things were handed to her on a platter so long as she kept her nose clean and repped the family business (real estate). life's been cushy and non-urgent, and becoming a liminal is the hardest thing that's ever happened to eden lmfao (though she would tell u otherwise). she is a semi-sweet kid with a bratty side and truly debilitating existential anxiety that is NOT helped by sharing her body with william cobb, who she unfortunately still has a crush on somehow. their "status" is what brought her to Enodia, as her father is the type to throw money at problems rather than actually solve them. they were like uh i guess she can have a job??? (cool!!)

CURRENT STATE: it's chill to have like, a career now maybe?? but what if she's bad at it?? what if WILLY is bad at it?? what if they can't make friends?? what if they're stuck like this forever?? what if willy forgets to let her out?? what if she rips another door off its hinges by accident and everyone laughs?? worst of all, what if she gets REALLY BORED at the station???

TIME AT ENODIA: vidalia's a newb! the pulse caught her attention and she thought that sounded like a fun place to work. which seems reasonable??

POWER(S):
🛠️ removeable parts - she can pop any body part off at the joint, leaving an empty socket. once the body part is gone she no longer has any control over it, so it's just useless trash that she tends to just leave lying around.
🛠️ regenerating parts - those limbs she pops off will grow back! not very fast - a full arm might take up to a month to regrow, and she'll have gross little baby limbs in the meantime, but they will grow back!
🛠️ fun with prosthetics - as long as the socket is empty, vidalia can pop a prosthetic in there and have full control over them. but it's not just prosthetics made for that purpose - she could stick a chainsaw on there and use it like an extension of herself. very useful for fighting deadites.

SUMMARY:
🛠️ born n raised in rural mississippi, oldest of four, learned the maintenance trade by helping her dad on his handyman jobs.
🛠️ learned she was a liminal around 12/13 when she popped a toe off while climbing fences barefoot. tried to hide it but then she bled in front of her entire class and haha why didn't anyone just believe she happened to sit on a purple marker???
🛠️ went to a boarding school and as a result felt distanced from her family. led to her thinking she can only belong with other liminals.
🛠️ worked in sewers for the county for a couple years and she's very comf being a dirty birdy. sorry roomie.

OCCUPATION: Currently, working as a perimeter guard; this is mostly Eden's job, but he's along for the ride. They share a single position and are basically scheduled for certain shifts and one or the other of them will show up. Mostly Eden, to be honest. Before he came to Enodia, Willy worked as a part-time budtender and part-time line cook at a diner-type establishment. His best traits remain his ability to source flower and fry eggs.

TIME AT ENODIA: Just got here a few weeks ago. Before that, he & Eden were living in Boulder, CO. Willy is still sorta learning the ropes.

POWER(S):
1. Summoning - He can boof small objects over to his general area. Could probably do bigger stuff too, but he's too scared to fuck it up and drop a TV or a human or whatever.

2. Phasing - Basically what it says on the tin. He can sorta, sometimes carry stuff while he's doing it, but it's hit-or-miss right now.

3. Body sharing - UHHHHHH. SO. Willy can clip into people's bodies and ride shotgun for a while. He has absolutely no idea that this is the case. See below for details.

SUMMARY: Spent his early-mid 20s feeling Directionless and Overwhelmed and decided that the best way to deal with this was to live life on cruise control. Willy has systematically deleted his "ambitions" and "feelings" in a desperate attempt to avoid getting hurt. Can't fail if you don't try! He was sorta working and sorta just bumming around when he accidentally smushed into his Tinder ?gf/hookup during an Intimate Moment and now he's Stuck living in the backseat of her brain. It's an absolute horror-show and something that, in truth, he has complete control over; unfortunately, he hasn't figured that out quite yet. Much like "finishing his Masters" and "forming healthy relationships," it's all just too scary and out of reach and completely impossible right now, okay!!!

CURRENT STATE: UH. LMAO. Whatever, whatever, whatever, he's chill, he's zen, he's got no worries whatsoever.

ANYTHING ELSE: So, how the body sharing thing works is that either Eden is out or Willy is. They look and act like themselves when they're 'fronting,' although they can sometimes Hear the other person in the back of their heads. If they get hurt or altered or sick, it'll manifest in the other person when they swap who's out. Willy and Eden have a moderate amount of control over who is driving, although it's not uncommon to see Willy/Eden blip out of existence unexpectedly. It's wack!

🩻 bone manipulation - This man fucks with bones. His bones, animal bones, the pope's bones, as long as he can see them he can break, heal, grow, crush, move, do just about anything with bones. And speaking of seeing bones...
🩻 x-ray vision - He sees bones. Just so many bones. He hasn't made proper eye contact with anyone since he was 17 because all he sees is a skull unless he's wearing his special anti-x-ray sunglasses. Has virtually no control over this power.

SUMMARY:
🩻 Sad lil artsy boy from a defunct Appalachian company town.
🩻 Dreamed of a bigger life. A little while after the rifts opened, he and his best friend Eureka (coughfinishyourappalicough) went in search of that bigger life by hunting down the rifts in order to manifest powers. Then they could go to boarding school!!!
🩻 Womp womp, Zeke's powers manifested on his 18th birthday. No boarding school for you, Mr. Adult.
🩻 Wandered around the country for several years, sulking and meeting people and doing things. Were one of these people your character?? Did they do a thing together before he fucked off?? Maybe!! He's got like a full decade of fucking around to fill.

CURRENT STATE: Immediately after the pulse Zeke was like. It literally didn't occur to him that people would want to go back??? Like???? Are you fucking insane??? And yet, before the pulse, Enodia was the closest he'd felt to comfortable in one place in a while. So looks like he's coming back! Which he's extremely anxious about!!!

ANYTHING ELSE: Completely colorblind because of his x-ray vision so if he's wearing clashing clothes sometimes just don't tell him. He'll be happier if he doesn't know.

POWER(S): can absorb, detect, create, and manipulate energy. can absorb energy from inanimate and living things, including people, and can save it for later use. can use energy to create constructs, things like weapons, platforms, energy blasts, and shields.

SUMMARY: finn is an irish misfit, originally from derry, northern ireland. her father died before her first birthday and her mother left her behind with her parents while she remarried and fucked off to live in texas. finn grew up with her grandparents, causing trouble and being a nuisance until she was sent to live with her mother at sixteen. there she learns that she still hates her mom, but that she also likes working on a ranch. when she's seventeen she gains her powers and decides that the best thing for herself is to keep it a secret.

this works for a few years and she lives normally for a while, going to college and getting a real job. and then she gets into a fight and is discovered to be a liminal. after this, she goes on the run for a while before she's caught and imprisoned. after prison, she moves to vegas and works in an electronics repair shop by day and does shady shit to win money at the casinos by night. this lasts for a while until she once again runs into some trouble with the law. and then she's offered a job working for IRIS and takes them up on the offer, moving to vermont and getting a job at the brand new enodia station.

CURRENT STATE: she's just been chilling, working as a ranch hand at a ranch outside of colchester.

ANYTHING ELSE: she really is always ready for a fight, and she carries a knife everywhere.

TIME AT ENODIA: Hera is extremely new, as in basically just got off the plane. IRIS scooped her up after she got out of jail and kinda tied her hands.

POWER(S): pyrokinesis & temperature manipulation (98<). basically daenerys targaryen with a flamethrower. she's also proven capable of spontaneously generating flame, but hasn't figured out how to control that, so she carries around a bunch of lighters to set herself on fire if necessary. woohoo!

SUMMARY: grew up in a family of narcissists and academics. almost burned down the house with the appearance of her liminal powers, traumatizing her elder brother in the process. went to liminal school, became a scientist and environmental activist, then got kicked out of her PHD program when she got busted for arson. (note: she has associated with fellow ecoterrorists jack n annie in the past, but is actually unaware of this. for now.) hera is cooler than thou and a prickly lil nihilist, but she's got a squishy core of idealism and nerdery deep down in there. not having a great time, generally.

CURRENT STATE: being here was not hera's choice, but she doesn't really have another to make at this point. it pisses her off. that said, she's actually quite fascinated by the riftlands and will probably ask too many prying questions about the pulse. :)

TIME AT ENODIA: Noah was in the first batch of Enodia peeps at the very precious age of 19 :,) He came here by way of playing piano in a lounge bar in New York City after graduating from high school, and while he was very good at it, he hated how much it felt like a shadow of his previous musical abilities. He was definitely here for the unexplained pulse and lucked out in that it just made his powers stop working for a while. He was terrified he was going to chop himself (or someone else) in half. Not his fav thing. (His FINE though.)

POWER(S): Noah can make spherical/spheroid forcefields around himself. They can be nearly transparent or completely opaque, and he has control over what can pass in or out of it at any given point on the forcefield. It obviously takes a bit of concentration for him to keep them up, but in general the more spherical they are, the smaller they are, and the less outward or inward impacts they receive, the easier they are to maintain. Once big caveat is that the center always has to be some point on his body, so some part of him is always going to be inside of the bubble.

SUMMARY: Noah grew up in New York City and was a child prodigy violin player, winning state-side competitions at 5 and international competitions at 7. He played with the philharmonic! He traveled around! It was great! Except at age 11, his powers manifested and he created a very solid bubble that started at the tip of his left index finger to about halfway up his forearm - and, since he was stretching with his hand on his left leg, he managed to sever both his left arm and his left leg clean off. He was given about a year to recover from this before being sent off to liminal school in upstate New York, during which he gained a love of nature because he'd just sit and mope outside and watch birds. He got prosthetics, roomed with Dorin Lee, and resolved himself to get back on with his life. It worked pretty well - he was social, took up playing piano, worked obsessively to learn how to control his powers - all the good stuff. After graduating he was upset he couldn't do what he actually wanted (play violin professionally - even with better prosthetics it wasn't the same) so he did what he sort of wanted (play piano technically professionally but kind of depressingly). Did a year of that, hated it, moved to Enodia, actually kinda liked it. Now has essentially almost human-grade prosthetics but refuses to get ones that look human because he's mad about it.

CURRENT STATE: Noah is FINE. (He's like, kind of fine). The blip scared the shit out of him because he's already pretty paranoid about chopping off more limbs, and even perfect power control obviously can't save you from blips. But he is attached to Enodia, and the people here, and Dorin was coming, so it seemed alright. Noah will likely be hyper-vigilant about his powers for a little while but then relax. He is very excited to be rooming with Dorin again, and it has nothing at all to do with the comfort of having an old friend near because he's freaked out!! He is very ready to make new friends with new weirdos.

ANYTHING ELSE: I just almost randomly wrote a different, long gone character's name in the subject of this. Come on, brain!!!!! But anyways Noah is a blunt buttface sometimes but he loves having friends and has a pretty low threshold for considering people friends (but he has a very high threshold for being emotionally vulnerable).

TIME AT ENODIA: She just got here!!! She is very excited to be here! She was just sort of being sad in Ames, Iowa, before coming to Enodia, working at a bakery.

POWER(S): 1) Cannot be burned by anything (hot or cold)
2) Can adjust her own body temperature to pretty much any range and be fine - this also makes her hot/cold to the touch. Usually she just uses it so she's never uncomfortable.
3) Perfect temperature awareness. She can stick her hand in an oven and tell you the exact temp! Or, like, step outside.

SUMMARY: Hypatia was born in Ames, Iowa, and her parents had a very off and on relationship, but they tried to keep a stable home for Hypatia and her two sisters. However, she still ended up being the emotional manager of the family from a young age. When she hit high school her parents formally split up, which gave Hypatia time to blossom a bit, and she got a boyfriend and joined a million clubs. She married said boyfriend straight out of high school, went to college in Ames for Chemistry (and he went for Biophysics), and they had two kids their sophomore and junior years. She became a stay at home mom after finishing her masters, her husband got his PhD, and they moved to Atlanta for an IRIS job her husband got. She started her PhD but then her powers manifested, and her husband, not pumped about this development, left while she was away, taking their two children. Because she's a doormat she signed the divorce papers and gave him full custody :( She got the energy up to finish her PhD and then moved home to live with her younger sister for two years before coming to Enodia!

CURRENT STATE: Pumped af. Hypatia is obviously, like, a little sad on the inside, but she's so happy to be in a new place with potential new friends, doing chemistry and being social with other Liminals! This is going to be awesome and she is going to make so many people's lives better!!

Enodia Station is his first job placement with IRIS.

CURRENT STATE: Feels like he has a lot to prove. Going from dumbass delinquent to someone in charge of stopping conflict around the station will be An Adjustment, but also he's very good at just throwing himself into things without thinking about it. It'll be cool. Come at him bro!!!!

WANTED LINES:
💢 People who got into a fight with him: So from roughly 2018 to 2020, Sal was traveling around the northeastern United States and starting fights with random Liminals in the street. His reasons for doing this were... bad, and his powers meant that he could get EXTREMELY fucked up by Liminals fighting back against some random kid who wanted to mug them. Or he could've punched your character out. Either works. (Please do not opt for this line if you want it to be scarringly traumatic lmfao. I am Down To Clown if you have ideas but I'm looking for this to be more idiotic than angsty.)
💢 People to look up to: Sal is VERY rough around the edges, but he is mostly (MOSTLY...) well-intentioned and could use a good influence or two. I'm fine with seeing if he clicks with anyone in-game or not, but if you think your character might be willing to take a punchy dumbass under their wing then 👂

SUMMARY:
TLDR she was a kid who grew up in a (different) station, following her mom who worked there. Zee met a fellow liminal, Dior, who became her bff and then they went to That Boarding School. Then surprise graduation gift: their parents got together and married officially years later. They decided to have a fresh start when Enodia Station opened and dragged the kids here with them ~like a happy family~. Rather than voicing any kind of need for space from living + working with family, she decides to be a nocturnal dude instead because healthy communication is overrated.

CURRENT STATE: Lowkey stressed about the station reopening and new people coming in but committed to acting like its all #fine.

Headcanon there were crew dance battles with another boarding school that was always super heated. TIME AT ENODIA: Lenz started at Enodia Station when it opened five years ago. He was present for the pulse, during which he lost control of his powers and rapid-fire teleported to a bunch of random places he'd never even seen before (which he typically can't do) before falling unconscious. Fucking wild time. He's still trying to wrap his head around it and retrace all those jumps.

POWER(S):
🌀 Portal Teleportation: Lenz can create portals that instantly transport whatever passes through them from one place to another. He can only teleport to places he can see or places he's been, though there doesn't seem to be a limit on the distance he can travel.
🌀 Living Portal & Pocket Dimension Access: Lenz can infuse himself (partially or completely) with the same substance that makes up his portals. Passing through this living portal form connects to a weird little pocket dimension with busted physics. He's also difficult to harm while in this portal form, since things tend to just pass through him. That portal substance starts to seep out on its own every now and then, leaving odd black patterns on his skin until he shoos them away.

SUMMARY: Lenz grew up in a strict religious family that he could never fall in line with and that punished him...basically constantly. He ran away as a teenager with his sister after she manifested Liminal abilities, though she later got picked up by IRIS anyway much to his chagrin. He ended up in Las Vegas, worked a few legitimate jobs, manifested his own powers, added some less legitimate jobs, and eventually got strong-armed into some real underworld shit he didn't want to be part of. He turned to his sister and IRIS to get him out of it, resulting in monitoring/probation and a job at Enodia Station.

Lenz is clever, brash, defiant, and prone to pushing boundaries to see what he can get away with. He likes people but in the good shallow fun kind of way because he's slow to trust and loyal to himself and his people only. At his core he's restless and never satisfied with much of anything, so he's always looking for new places, new habits, new experiences, etc.

CURRENT STATE: Lenz spent his time away from Enodia Station backpacking around and trying to retrace his steps to those places he teleported to during the pulse but can't remember well enough to get back to. It felt important or something. He can't explain it. Shut up. Anyway, he basically blew through his savings. But it's whatever! At least he's built up his repertoire of teleporting locations! Time to head home and get back into the grind.

SUMMARY: In her adolescent years, Taby was an elite gymnast who made the US Olympic team twice. Shortly after her second Olympics, she was discovered to be concealing her liminal status and was stripped of all her medals. Big scandal! Ppl are free to remember this happening. Afterwards she was left a little adrift and eventually joined the liminal MMA circuit. She's been recovering from a bad injury and has decided to work at Enodia as a sort of self-care endeavor (we will see how that goes)

CURRENT STATE: Rowdy and full of energy like a poorly socialized puppy. But happy to be here!
