LYSS THEY'RE BOTH FROM LA what do you think if they were shitty dirtbag LA friends? I actually think this would really work (at least for Jack) bc he has very low (to no) expectations about friendships so Crysta not being very loyal/dropping him from time to time wouldn't really bother him. He's like, "nobody will ever care for or love me authentically" but not in a sad way, in a way that makes his next thought "SO LET'S FUCKING PAAARTYYYYYYY." Also, I need to reconnect Jack to his advisory eunuch roots so please join me in this thought journey: rolling too hard on molly, Crysta? Never fear, your friend Jack has strawberry Pedialyte in his little Trader Joe's canvas tote bag he brought to the club.

How could they have met? Maybe Crysta gave him the best haircut of his life. Or maybe as a joke, she visited the adult boutique he used to work at and instead of being like "LEAVE if you're not going to take this establishment seriously" he was also like "lol (cordial)."

I love it omg please. There has never been a human in life more in need of a friend to follow them around with a lil pedialyte filled tote bag he's an angel. God they'd actually mesh so well re: terrible but fun outlooks on the world and she would LOVE that someone would UNDERSTAND lack of human connex is actually super freeing and fun; dance with her.

SO YES PLEASE YES PLEASE. Points:

They should def have met in his adult boutique and she was crass and might've called him on working there if they saw each other out at clubs later which is a lot of humiliation for a new friend but that's what she has to offer

She would've for sure dropped him a few times but probably never mean about it unless she felt he was getting cocky and assuming any kind of emotional intimacy

I think it would be funny if they had partied together during her big Dead Brother Bender party spree in the last 3 months but they still don't know they're both coming to the same place those are my thoughts.

Your thoughts are gorgeous, your points are gorgeous, here are my responses:

I love this, this also really works for him. Most of the time he actually really loves it when people rib him, so this would have instantly broken the ice and made him swear advisory eunuch allegiance to her on the spot.

He definitely gets cocky about things but never consciously assumes emotional intimacy. I think on a subconscious level he does get a little bit too close, like he'd keep a sweater for Crysta in his trunk kind of thing. So there'd be opportunities for her to be like BACK OFF in their past.

I also think this is very funny and would love this additional flavor in their immediate backstory.

BUT AAH YAY THIS SOUNDS GOOD. And god yes, she would definitely find even seemingly minor acts of unconditional friendship little Much even if she did something of equal or greater Kind value and there were probably one to several occasions where she'd like, cut his hair for free for 3 months and then be like "you're so CLINGY" when he held a door one time it's not him it's her. She would also trot back in a few days like nothing had happened which he shouldn't enable.

Crysta is so good!!! Annie has been working with Enoch for awhile now, so once Marin and I hammer out that dynamic it may color how Crysta views Annie. But generally speaking, Annie is a simp for pretty party girls and will be magnetically attracted to her energy.
