Meme: Housing

Meme: Housing

Enodia Station will re-open soon and that means moving back into the Residential Building! Fill out this meme to tell other players about your character's space, how they act at home, and (potentially) how they are to live with. Godspeed to the roommates.

If you haven't claimed an apartment for your character, you can do so here. If you need to review the Residential Building or the apartment layouts, that information can be found here.

Only players with accepted characters should complete this meme.
NAME: Character name.
APARTMENT: Apartment number.
ROOMMATE(S): List roommate(s), if any.
PET(S): List pets, if any.

DECORATIONS: How will the character personalize their space? Do they have an aesthetic or a theme? Are their tastes expensive or cheap? Are they a minimalist or do they hoard tchotchkes? Does this differ between rooms?
TIDINESS: How neat is the character? Do they pick up after themselves or leave a mess? Are they organized or does everything just end up where it ends up? Do they take their shoes off at the door?
HABITS: What is the character like at home? Do they have different idiosyncrasies or behaviors when in their own space? Do they have a routine?
BELONGINGS: Does the character have any particular belongings that they're especially proud of or especially attached to? Do they keep anything hidden in their room that they wouldn't want others to find?

AS A ROOMIE: If applicable, how is this character as a roommate? Are they considerate or oblivious when it comes to their roommate's preferences? Do they enforce a chore wheel? How do they feel about having a roommate? How do they treat shared spaces?
AS A NEIGHBOR: How is this character as a neighbor? Do they interact with neighbors at all or ignore them? Are they the party neighbor that plays loud music all night? Are they the reliable neighbor that'll check in on your plants and pets while you're away? Are they a snoop that's always trying to get an invite inside?

GETTING AWAY: When your character wants to leave the Station, do they have a personal vehicle for that or do they rely on IRIS transportation? If they do have transportation, what kind is it? Are they willing to give anyone else a lift? Is their car their baby that they put a ton of effort into?

Dorin Lee

[personal profile] dorinlee 2023-05-16 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
NAME: Dorin Lee
APARTMENT: 206
ROOMMATE(S): Noah Moon
PET(S): None

DECORATIONS: Dorin's space is cozy, warm, and cluttered. He has simple tastes but likes to surround himself with belongings that carry sentimental value or otherwise make him feel good. This includes things like photographs he's taken, gifts he's received, handmade crafts, knick-knacks, and the like. He's the type that never gets rid of anything. He also has a collection of sewing supplies that're tucked away in containers, a sewing machine, and a dress form. He loves natural light so his curtains are very rarely closed. He has a warm duvet, a colorful knit throw, and a small pile of mismatched pillows on his bed to flip into.

TIDINESS: Dorin isn't messy, per se. He cleans and everything he has belongs somewhere, but he holds onto a lot and that makes his space feel chaotic to some. That said, he takes care of everything he has and his clothes in particular are kept tidy and organized. He takes his shoes off at the front door and is put off when other people don't do the same, though he'd never say anything.

HABITS: The apartment is one of the only places where Dorin allows himself to use his tentacles, which are pretty great for multi-tasking and can allow him to do four or five things at a time once he finds his rhythm. He typically does this when he's home alone, though using them in front of Noah isn't completely off the table. It's Noah, after all. Beyond that, he's pretty much the same at home as he is everywhere else. He doesn't have a steady routine because his work hours fluctuate and because he's always committing himself to other people's projects. He likes to start his days with a swim if he can.

BELONGINGS: Basically everything Dorin has is important to him and he keeps it all out in the open so he can bask in the good vibes. No secrets here. He's happy to talk about anything that can be found in his space, especially if it was a gift. Don't give him anything if you don't want him gushing about it and you later on to someone else. The only exception to this is a small box on his bookshelf that holds keepsakes from his former partner and a letter he received recently from his estranged mother. All that...can stay in a box.

It's probably worth mentioning that he does have a small stash of blood in the refrigerator in the kitchen. The containers are opaque and labeled, though, so it should be fine! Just don't go blindly chugging anything.

AS A ROOMIE: Dorin isn't as neat as his roommate but he tries hard to meet Noah's standards in shared spaces and to keep everything how he likes it. His comparative chaos stops at his bedroom door. They were roommates growing up at Shawangunk Ridge Educational Facility (The Gunks), so living with Noah again feels comforting and nostalgic. Even sweet little Paganini is back! What more could a guy ask for?

AS A NEIGHBOR: Polite, considerate, and helpful. Dorin never wants to be a bother! While he might be too shy to go over and introduce himself, he's definitely the type to leave a welcome note/gift at a new neighbor's door and he'll lend his belongings or his time to a neighbor without hesitation. He wants to be part of a community!

GETTING AWAY: Dorin doesn't have a license or a car. He typically relies on IRIS transportation to leave Enodia. By why would he want to leave, anyway? He doesn't really belong out there, does he?
