I think Lenz probably likes Zee, but he also thinks she's repressed with how calm and Mom Friend she is. Unfortunately, he's probably keen to tease her/needle her to get a reaction and to encourage her to let her hair down, even if none of it ever works. They're both also night people it sounds like, so they may occasionally cross paths at weird hours.

...also, he's deeply confused by the fact that she still lives with her parents. The idea of that makes his skin crawl. (But also his parents were awful, so.)
